ILLINOIS RIVER: Fishing is slow due to high water still but a few anglers
are catching catfish and white bass. Use cut bait or shrimp for catfish,
blade baits and spinners are taking white bass. Bow fishing is still doing
good with bow fisherman taking carp,gar and bowfin in the back waters.

HENNEPIN CANAL: Flathead catfish are fair on live bluegill or bullhead
fished above the locks. Channel cat are hitting chicken liver and night
crawlers mid day. Lg. mouth bass are hitting top water baits such as hula
poppers and frogs throughout the day. Fish around fallen trees with the
popper, letting it sit for as much as 2min. between jerks. work the heavy
weeds with a frog pulling it into open pockets in the weed bed and let it
sit in the opening.

MENDOTA LAKE: Catfish are hitting chicken liver and night crawlers just
before dusk but take plenty of bug spray with you. A few bluegill are
being caught in deeper water on trout worms and red worms.
